Carl Kuhlau

Who was this Carl Kuhlau, and was he related to "our" Danish composer Friedrich Kuhlau?

An internet search provided a clue -- a reference to an organist Carl Kuhlau on the Leipzig Gewandhaus' homepage, the musical institution led by Mendelssohn from 1835. The Gewandhaus kindly supplied the following information. Yes, Andreas Carl Kuhlau (1825 or 1821? - 1857) was the nephew of the German-Danish composer Kuhlau. He was a student in the first class of the Leipziger Konservatorium der Musik, newly established by Felix Mendelssohn, and was taught by Mendelssohn and Moritz Hauptmann. After his studies, he became an organist at St. Johannis church, and taught many music students. He died at the early age of 32.
