Helga Zepp-LaRouche takes the

LaRouche plan to Denmark

By Michelle Rasmussen

In an example of one fist across the continents, at the same time as Lyndon LaRouche was addressing the Obama administration and the world during his April 28 webcast, his wife, Helga Zepp-LaRouche, brought the same message to international audiences in Denmark. During three days of public and private meetings in Copenhagen, Mrs. Zepp-LaRouche tried to make clear to Danish politicians and citizens, as well as foreign diplomats and press, that the world is facing the greatest crisis in world history, which will result in a hyperinflationary blow out, and a new dark age, unless nations listen to her husband, Lyndon LaRouche, the one economist who was able to foresee the collapse, and change policy now by creating a New Bretton Woods credit system.

From April 28-30, Mrs. Zepp-LaRouche had a full schedule of meetings, including a public meeting, a diplomatic seminar, and a press conference, as well as private meetings with Danish politicians, a ministry official, an ambassador, and the Schiller Institute in Denmark’s national core activists. From having read about and seen Mrs. and Mrs. LaRouche in print, and through electronic webcasts, the discussions that ensued, succeeded in creating a direct sensous dialogue with the leaders of our international campaign, which signaled the beginning of a new political era. For the Danes she met, Mrs. Zepp-LaRouche also confronted their state of denial that the crisis is “out there,” and won’t really affect them.

The public meeting, held simultaneously with Mr. LaRouche’s webcast, was attended by about 50 members of the Schiller Institute, many of whom had not been to a meeting in a long time, or had come for the first time, as well as several students who had seen posters advertizing the meeting at the university. Afterwards, most expressed that it was a fantastic experience to hear Mrs. Zepp-LaRouche, who was last in Copenhagen 18 years ago, when her husband was in jail. The diplomatic meeting was attended by representatives of seven nations, and a journalist from a major Russian media, and EIR interviewed Mrs. Zepp-LaRouche at the press conference. During the mobilization to arrange meetings with her, Schiller Institute activists got the most essential points out to leading politicians, the domestic and foreign press, the entire diplomatic corps and the entire Schiller Institute membership and e-mail base. The recordings from the meetings will be sent to all of the above, and therefore, send a political shock-wave throughout Denmark, and the world.

Free President Obama

Because of the key role of the United States in forging such a new credit system, Mrs. Zepp-LaRouche warned that if President Obama were not freed from the control of Wall Street, through Larry Summers and a group of behavioral economists, there were no hope for the human race. Mr. Obama has a short window of opportunity to act to protect the general welfare, before he becomes as hated as President Bush, provoking social unrest, chaos, or even civil war. Mrs. Zepp-LaRouche gave her audiences hope that the combination of Mr. LaRouche’s last two webcasts, together with the mobilization of the LaRouche political campaign in the U.S. to pass the Homeowners and Bank Protection Act, and the establishment of an investigative Pecora Commission, could produce the needed dramatic policy shift.

Mrs. Zepp-LaRouche renewed her call for an investigative commissions, like the Ferdinand Pecora Commission during the F. D. Roosevelt administration, so that the rotten axioms which caused the financial and economic collapse may be uprooted, and replaced by the sound principles of physical economy taught by Mr. LaRouche. In her private meetings with members of a relevant Danish parliamentary committee, Mrs. Zepp-LaRouche appealed to them to invite Lyndon LaRouche, hold a hearing , and/or establish such a commission in Denmark, where several banks have collapsed, with others in the danger zone.

Then, the U.S., together with Russia, China and India, could form a four-power agreement to initiate a New Bretton Woods agreement and begin the reconstruction of the world’s physical economy and take on the moral responsibility to alleviate the massive poverty in the world.

The worst crisis in world history

During her meetings, Mrs. Zepp-LaRouche began by painting a bleak picture of the devastating physical economic effects of the collapsing financial system on the economy and population -- from the collapse of production and trade, to the collapse of living conditions, which will lead directly to a breakout of pandemics, of which the current swine flue from Mexico is just one example.  Mexico has been classified by the U.S. command as a “failed state,” and has over 50% unemployment, a collapse of living standards, and is dominated by narco-terrorism.

This is not a financial crisis, but a civilizational crisis. We are facing a new dark age, worse than that of the 14th century, which would reduce the world population from 6 billion to 1-2 billion. Already now, two thirds of the world’s population lives in poverty. She asked her audiences if they were willing to accept this.

The current G-20 strategy of bailing out the speculators will not solve the problem, but, through a euphemism called “quantitative easing,” only lead to a hyperinflationary blow-out, similar to the Weimar period. Since that meeting, President Obama has adopted the Gordon Brown-City of London bail-out the banks strategy, and his economic policy is being dominated by a group of behavioral economists.

Mrs. Zepp-LaRouche stressed that they are not economists at all, but try to bring a bestial image of man based psychological theory called behaviorism, into economics. They submit that chemical processes in the brain determine a person’s actions before their human will does, thereby reducing man to a robot or animal. They believe that man is not rational, and cannot be expected to rationally pursue their greed motive, which economists could count on in making policy. No, there are other psychological factors, which economists can and should manipulate, to control the behavior of the potential buyers. Now, the population must be manipulated to accept fascist economic cutbacks. These behavioral economists, many of whom are from Chicago, have been affecting Obama’s policies for a long time, and since the G-20 meeting, they are dominating his economic thinking.

President Obama must immediately fire Larry Summers, the head of the president’s economic council, rely on the competent cabinet members and other economists and transform the economic policy based on F.D. Roosevelt-LaRouche principles.

Eurozone collapsing

As for Europe, the euro zone is about to disintegrate. The German taxpayers will either not be able, or not be willing to bail out the indebtedness of the eastern European, Mediterranean, Baltic countries, or rather the Swiss and Austrian banks that they borrowed money from. The German exports are collapsing, with machine tool exports down 23.7 % (from ???)  Mrs. Merkel calls bailing out Hypo Real Estate a systemic question, whereas saving Opel is not. How is this possible, when it takes so long to create industrial skills.

The LaRouche plan for economic recovery

Then, Mrs. Zepp-LaRouche outlined Mr. LaRouche’s plan to bail-out the economy, rather than the current financial system: 1. write off toxic waste, 2. change from a monetary to credit system by establishing Alexander Hamilton-style national banks, 3. Establish an international New Bretton Woods agreement, 4.resume building the Eurasian Land-bridge. Mrs. Zepp-LaRouche concluded by urging her listeners to help the Schiller Institute put the NBW back on the table, and, instead of being money-fixated,  instead of having on your grave “He ate five tons of caviar,” to revive the cultural and moral values which are worthy of the dignity of man, based on the unlimited perfectibility of cognitive powers, to achieve the advancement of mankind, and create a family of nations, which are happy for the development of the other.

Friedrich Schiller and Denmark

During the discussion periods, Mrs. Zepp-LaRouche had the opportunity to go more into depth into many questions. One was that she urged Denmark to either cancel the December global warming summit, or turn it into a global cooling summit. I will close this article by reporting on her answer to what Friedrich Schiller can say to people in crisis-ridden 2009. Schiller’s notion of the beautiful soul, who passionately does what is necessary, and his concept of the sublime, where though we are physically weak, we can become morally strong and free, and put our identity in values that reach beyond our mortal lives, can help people develop their emotions through aesthetical education, to develop creativity, passion, compassion and love.

She pointed out that since Denmark was such a great ally of Schiller, the Danes ought to really celebrate his 250th birthday. A leader of an adult education institution, who, in cooperation with the Schiller Institute, was already planning to recreate the 1791 weekend festival to celebrate Schiller, organized by the Danish poet Jens Baggesen, which turned into a sorrowful commemoration of Schiller, when they mistakenly got the word that he had just died, then rose to say how moved he was, and that he would now proceed full steam ahead.

The Schiller Institute in Denmark will now build on the motion that Mrs. Zepp-LaRouche created during her trip, and invite her back soon.
